United States President Barack Obama make a visit to Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Turkey is the first country with a Muslim majority population which Obama visited since he was a U.S. president in January ago.
Through this visit, Obama hope to restore the good relations between Turkey with the U.S., due to a lack of harmony since the U.S. invasion to Iraq in 2003. Obama also hope Turkey can bridge the U.S. with the Middle East, especially with Iran and Syria.
"New U.S. government want to improve their image in the Muslim world, and the easiest way to start is with the the visited on this Turkish state," said by observer from Institur of Economic Policy Research Nihat Ali Ozcan in Ankara.
