Two U.S. Soldiers Killed In Mossul, Iraq

U.S. soldiers killed in Mosul, Iraq
Two U.S. soldiers killed and three other injured when someone wearing Iraqi army uniform fired the U.S. troops outside the City of Mosul, North Iraq. U.S. military spokesman in Mosul, Major Derrick Cheng said "We get a report on small arms fire attack in Hamam al-Alil, 20 km south of Mosul". Iraqi Military reports said the gunman was a training soldier. He was standing close to U.S. soldiers when he aimed his firearm at them and began the shooting.

There has been similar incidents when men in Iraqi security force uniforms opening fire on U.S. troops in the Mosul area, and then an insurgents dressed as Iraqi policeman shot and killed a U.S. soldier and an interpreter in the city.

Nineveh and Mosul is seen as the last remaining urban stronghold of al-Qaeda in Iraq, and until now it is still colored by firing and bombardment. As a result, U.S helicopters were always hovering on the area and roads to the base.
