Police HQ has announced that the corpse of "Mr. X" from the home raided in Temanggung, Central Java, is Ibrohim, florist at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, and not a corpse of terrorist fugitive Noordin M. Top.
DNA tests conducted by forensic team show that a man killed in a weekend raid was not Noordin Mohammed Top, one of the region's most wanted men, Indonesian police say.
Chairman of the Disaster Victim Identification Team Mabes Polri brigadier general Saparwoko Police Eddy, Wednesday (12 / 8), announced that DNA test result from the corpse matches with DNA samples from Ibrohim's family.
In a press meet at the Police Hospital Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, the role of Ibrohim and also recording of Ibrohim activities while preparing bombs at Hotel JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton played by the police. In the recording appears Ibrohim down goods from a pick-up truck, which is suspected as an explosive / bomb-making material. In the recording appears Ibrohim also had to do the survey on 8 July 2009.
"Bom not taken by Dani Permana when made a hotel check-in, but brought by Ibrohim a day before blasting," said Head of PR Division police HQ, Police General Inspector Nanan Soekarna.
And Nanan Soekarna also confirming that "The dead body is Ibrohim... We tried to match the DNA with the sample from Johor [Noordin's son] and it didn't match." "Ibrohim was a planner who was always present in the meetings with Noordin Top," Mr Soekarna said.
Police said they believed Ibrohim was to have been a suicide bomber himself in a planned attack on the home of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
