When the quick count results are consistent with the calculation result from Election Commission (KPU), then likely 2009 presidential election will take one round only with the pair of SBY-Boediono as the winner.
From four institutions that monitored Kompas.com until 15:00 o'clock, the Indonesian Survey Institute / Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) shows SBY-Boediono win the election with 60.68 percent of the vote.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Survey Circle / Lingkaran Survei Indonesia gave 60.74 percent of vote for this Democratic party Coalition's pair, the LP3ES 59.45 percent, while CIRRUS 59.95 percent of the total vote counted.
Official results are not expected for several days but, based on several unofficial figures compiled in local media, Mr Yudhoyono might well avoid a second round run-off in September.
For this he needs more than 50% of the vote, and 20% in all 33 provinces. "Today is the people's day," Mr Yudhoyono told reporters after casting his vote in the town of Bogor, on Java island.
The 59-year-old former general was elected in Indonesia's first direct election in 2004, defeating then-President Megawati. He has been boosted by the success of the Indonesia's economical reform and a corruption eradication programs.
